The Iranian regime’s defense minister who had been involved in hostage taking and terrorism is visiting Moscow for talks about closer military cooperation.
Officials in Iran announced Monday that the regime in Tehran would spend another $8 billion on the purchase of Russian arms.
The Iranian regime has already handed Moscow a shopping list and the visit by Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan should speed up a number of key arms deals, RT reported.
"Iran would like to buy Russia's latest S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system, developed by Almaz-Antey. And they make no secret of it. On the eve of his visit to Moscow Dehghan openly said to Iranian media they want to purchase the S-400s," the report said quoting sources of the business daily Kommersant.
Days after a preliminary nuclear agreement between the Iranian regime and six world powers, the United Nations adopted a resolution on July 20 forbidding Iran’s regime from purchasing conventional arms for the next five years.

Naghdi: Annulment of sanctions on Sepah Bank and release of $1.7 billion was in return for releasing U.S. spies
In a speech in Tehran, IRGC Brigadier General Mohammadreza Naghdi, Commander of the suppressive Basij force, described hostage-taking and blackmail as “the way to get our right from the arrogant”. He referred to the arrest of U.S. citizens and the detention of U.S. boats in the Persian Gulf as examples.
Naghdi has personally commanded the attack on the British embassy in November 2011 and the attack on the Saudi embassy in January of this year by the orders from Khamenei. In his speech he said: “The annulment of sanctions of Sepah Bank and getting back $1.7 billion of blocked Iranian assets after 36 years had nothing to do with the negotiations and was simply the price paid by the U.S. to get its spies freed” and this goes to “show that the language of force is the only language U.S. understands… the way to get our right from the arrogant is to become strong and we need to become stronger and stronger every day” (Fars News Agency, affiliated with IRGC – January 20, 2016). This criminal IRGC element added, “5-6 revolutionary guards arrest 10 transgressing U.S. marines in the Persian Gulf and with God’s benevolence enemy’s plans were folded.”

Iran is the world's third biggest prison for journalists, the press freedoms group Reporters Without Borders (RSF) said in a report published on Tuesday.
At least 18 journalists are confirmed to be in detention in Iran, RSF said in its annual "Round-up of journalists killed worldwide 2015."
Earlier this month RSF published a separate annual Round-up of journalists detained, held hostage or disappeared in 2015," in which it wrote: "Those held in Iran include several arrested in November, the latest of many journalists to be accused of membership of 'espionage networks.'”
That report added that in Iran under the mullahs' rule "the judicial system is controlled by the Supreme Leader and is manipulated by the Revolutionary Guards in order to gag reporting critical of the regime."
RSF's website lists the Iranian regime's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as a Predator of Freedom of Information.
