Germany charges 2 Iranians with spying on opposition members - AP

BERLIN (AP) — German prosecutors have filed espionage charges against two Iranian men accused of spying on exiled opposition members for Iranian intelligence.

Federal prosecutors said Friday that the indictment against 31-year-old Maysam P. and 33-year-old Saied R. was filed March 22 at a Berlin court. The two men's full names weren't given in keeping with German privacy rules.

Prosecutors say both men once belonged to the opposition group known as the People's Mujahedin of Iran, or MEK.

 In her speech, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said that so long as the mullahs are in power in Iran, terrorism under the banner of Islam will continue to owe its existence to the regime.

In a speech in Tehran, IRGC Brigadier General Mohammadreza Naghdi, Commander of the suppressive Basij force, described hostage-taking and blackmail as “the way to get our right from the arrogant”. He referred to the arrest of U.S. citizens and the detention of U.S. boats in the Persian Gulf as examples.

Naghdi has personally commanded the attack on the British embassy in November 2011 and the attack on the Saudi embassy in January of this year by the orders from Khamenei. In his speech he said: “The annulment of sanctions of Sepah Bank and getting back $1.7 billion of blocked Iranian assets after 36 years had nothing to do with the negotiations and was simply the price paid by the U.S. to get its spies freed” and this goes to “show that the language of force is the only language U.S. understands… the way to get our right from the arrogant is to become strong and we need to become stronger and stronger every day” (Fars News Agency, affiliated with IRGC – January 20, 2016). This criminal IRGC element added, “5-6 revolutionary guards arrest 10 transgressing U.S. marines in the Persian Gulf and with God’s benevolence enemy’s plans were folded.”

Ms. Abdi was born in Tehran in 1957. She was the captain of the National Volleyball team and a sympathizer of the PMOI. According to her cellmate, Ms. Abdi was very popular among other inmates.

Her cellmates remember her for her open-mindedness and tolerant attitude towards other political prisoners. In one instance, her cellmate recalls, when a repenting prisoner who was in charge of the cell ordered another prisoner to separate her dishes from the others (because prison authorities treated prisoners who did not believe in God as “unclean”), Ms. Abdi had intervened and stressed that “no one considers the prisoner as ‘unclean’ and whoever does, should separate her own dishes from others”. Ms. Abdi had also kept her athletic spirits during her years of imprisonment and organized volleyball games during the short period when female prisoners had access to a volleyball court at Qezelhesar prison.

Arrest and detention

She was arrested in 1981.

One of her cellmates saying: "I saw her in section 8 of Qezelhesar in 1982. It was a section for special punishment and sometimes there were 25 to 30 people in a cell [that was meant to fit 3]... They placed Foruzan and some others in a restroom in early 1983. The place was so dirty that all of them contracted skin diseases. Then, they were transferred to solitary confinement at both Gohardasht and Qezelhesar prisons where they stayed until early 1986."

Ms. Abdi was protesting against the inhuman rules and behaviour of prison guards. As a result, for almost a year and half (fall 1983 - winter 1984), she was held in solitary confinement and was deprived from recreation time outside, from having contacts with others, reading newspapers, and having regular visits from her family.

Sometime in 1986, Ms. Abdi was transferred from Gohardasht to Evin prison where she was detained until her execution. During this period, she also spent most of her imprisonment in the closed section of the ward that prison authorities used for punishing prisoners. Those held in this section were held in closed cells and were allowed to leave their cells 3 times a day (for 30 minutes), during which time they could use the bathroom, wash their dishes and their clothes.

Forozan Abdipour was executed along with 30 000 other prisoners, mostly PMOI, when the Iranian regime carried out the massacre of political prisoners in the summer of 1988.

Today, women are fighting to enter volleyball stadiums to watch games. Forozan Abdipour, member of national volleyball volleyball team was executed in 1988 by the Iranian regime for wanted all women to live in freedom and democracy.

Iran: Swedish woman arrested in Gorgan

A Swedish national was arrested along with a friend by the Revolutionary Guards Corps Intelligence in Gorgan on December 13.

Her residence was thoroughly searched and some of her personal belongings confiscated.

Ms. Sanya Bobnevich, 48, is originally from Croatia but has Swedish citizenship. She moved to Iran in 2004 because she suffered from MS and needed exposure to sun light as part of her treatment. She was on special diet and took medicine that were sent to her from Sweden.

Supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and activists of the Iranian Resistance will take part in an elaborate event in front of the Bataclan at 3 PM today (November 18) in memory of the victims of last Friday’s deadly terrorist attacks in Paris.

The scheduled event will include musical performances and singing, symbolic acts in memory of the 129 victims, and the laying of a wreath.

On November 16, Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, and officials and supporters of the NCRI held a minute of silence in Auvers-sur-Oise, north of the French capital, in memory of victims of the Paris attacks.

Iran: Letter to my imprisoned daughter

AthenaDaemi’s  mother wrote a letter to her daughter, a political prisoner, after being in prison for one year.

Daemi was arrested at her father’s home on October 21, 2014 and was transferred to ward 2A of Evin Prison in Tehran.

She has been accused of “propaganda against the state”, “insulting the leader”, “assembly and collusion to commit crimes against national security”.

Obstructing entry of basic needs and contractors to Camp Liberty for imperative repairs

On Wednesday, October 21, 2015, Major Ahmed Khozair, an agent from the Governmental Committee tasked to suppress Camp Liberty residents, once again in the recent weeks, prevented entry of residents’ basic needs, supplies, and items needed for maintenance and repair of camp’s infrastructures, etc returning them from camp’s gate.

These suppressive measures and returning of items bought by residents are implemented under the supervision of Iraqi National Security Advisor Faleh Fayyad.

The returned items include ordinary cloth, stationary, electric cables, water pumps, ventilators, water pressure container, hose and physical exercise equipment.

Concurrently, agents of the Committee prevented an Iraqi contractor from coming to the camp despite the fact that his visit had been coordinated with UNAMI and Iraqi officers. It is over two years now that the suppressive committee prevents contractors from coming to the camp for the repair of air-conditioning systems and camp’s worn out infrastructures. This measure is egregious breach of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Government of Iraq and UNAMI on December 25, 2011 according to which contractors may sign contracts for refurbishment and repair jobs in the camp. This issue has been raised numerously with UNAMI, but no effective measures have been taken.

Khamenei compelled to approve nuclear deal paves way for future violations and stonewalling

On Wednesday, October 21, Iranian regime supreme leader Khamenei who is deeply concerned about the consequences of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with P5+1 for the survival of the clerical regime, inescapably approved the deal after a 100-day delay in a letter to Rouhani and stated that he approves the August 10, 2015 resolution of regime’s Supreme National Security Council in this regard.

Meanwhile, he resorted to charlatanism special to him to take advantage of the feeblepolicy of the West and its appeasement of mullahs. He raised some arguments or new conditions and made ambiguous statements to keep the option of violating the accord and to pave the way for stonewalling its implementation, while attempting to prop up his dispirited forces.

As you know Iran executes more people in the world than any other country except China. But it is number one per capita, with over 2000 executions since HassanRouhani became president. This is not nothing to be proud of. The regime claims that these people are drug traffickers. The reality is that many young people who are protesting against the mullahs are executed under this excuse. Several political prisoners have been hanged recently. Many executions are done in public. This creates an atmosphere of fear and terror.

At the same time repression against women has increased under Rouhani. Apart from many acid attacks, there are many repressive regulations imposed on women. Last week a new video clip appeared on YouTube which showed that in a marriage ceremony, the security forces in Iran arrested the bride and took her to prison because she did not dress properly. The regime interferes in the private lives of the people every day. Several women activists have recently received long-term prison sentences.

In March 2013, on International Women’s Day, Mrs. Rajavi presented her latest book, entitled “Women Against Fundamentalism” written in French. The book is a compilation of the experiences of women in the Iranian Resistance in the struggle against Islamic Fundamentalism.

The latest figures released by the National Statistics Center this fall (2015) indicates that in the year leading to Fall 2015, more than 553,000women have been expelled from the economic cycle...

They have also granted little opportunity to women's employment by government in the Employment Exam.

Some 8,000 people will be attracted by this exam, but based on the instructions given by Rouhani, from the 2800 job opportunities provided by this year's exam this June, 2284 jobs are exclusive for men, 500 are common for both women and men and there are only 16 jobs exclusively for women.

Niloofar Ardalan, member of Iranian women's national football team, was not allowed to leave the country because of her husband's opposition. She had taken part in intense exercizes for a considerable amount of time, but faced disagreement of her husband who did not giver her, her passport.

Ms. Ardalan is the left halfback and the caption of women's national football team.

"In the past two years, our statistics indicate that we have had marriages of girls under 10 years of age," said Shahindokht Molaverdi, presidential deputy on Women and Family Affairs. She said most of these marriages take place because of poverty and in borderline provinces.

According to the laws in Iran, the legal age of marriage is 13 for girls and 15 for boys, but if a father decides that he wants to wed his daughter in younger age, the law permits him to do so.

The data made available by the National Data Registry Organization, 75 children under 10 years of age were married in 2012. Also 29,827 girls between 10 and 14 years old were married.

The marriages of more than 31,000 girls under 15 years of age have been registered between March and September 2013. This is while many of the marriages with underage girls are not registered in Iran.

A young woman in Iran received 7-year imprisonment sentence on incredible charge of 4 million likes on her Facebook posting.

Shahi Savandi Shirazi was told by the authorities that four million likes on her Facebook page threatens the Iranian regime's "national security". She said she was asked questions about her private life that were irrelevant to her detention and was accused of things she had never done.
