Iran: High unemployment among educated women
Unemployment rate among educated women of Iran has doubled and they are widely disappointed.
Presidential deputy Shahindokht Molaverdi depicted a grim picture of the situation of women in Iran in the final day of the meetings of “regional popular organizations – RPOs” in the northern city of Gorgan on January 4.
Molaverdi acknowledged that educated women are widely disappointed and that the unemployment rate for educated women has doubled.
Expressing frustration over Iran’s gender gap ranking --141st among 145 countries—she revealed that there has been a regression with regards to women who have not been able to continue their education.
She also admitted that the number of female heads of household in Iran is on the rise, presently standing at 2.5 million.

Following the suspicious death of labor activist Mr. Shahrokh Zamani in Gohardasht (Rajai Shahr) Prison in Karaj (north-west of the Iranian capital Tehran), there are now reports by human rights organizations of a wave of arrests of union andsocial activists.

Call to save 19-year-old Ahwazi prisoner from execution in Iran

The Iranian Resistance calls for urgent action to save the life of Ali Sudani, a19-year-old member of Iran's Arab community, who is scheduled to face execution on Thursday, September 17 in public. It calls on all human rights organizations, in particular the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Iran, to take urgent action to prevent this inhuman crime.
