NCRI - Prominent Iranian political prisoner Ali Moezzi has sent out a message from Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the April 8, 2011 attack by the Iraqi army against members of the main Iranian opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) in Camp Ashraf, Iraq.

The unprovoked attack on the unarmed and defenseless PMOI (MEK) members in Camp Ashraf, which was carried out at the behest of the mullahs’ regime in Iran, left 36 camp residents killed and hundreds of others injured. The attack was condemned by the international community

On the fifth anniversary of April 8, 2011, we commemorate the epic valor and sacrifice of PMOI members. We bow our heads in recognition of the sacrifice of PMOI members that destroyed the fundamentalists’ conspiracies. Their blood, mixed with the blood spilt on the asphalt streets of our country and that of the executed political prisoners, will ensure a glorious future for Persia. From Saba Haftbaradaran who bled to death in front of her father’s eyes and lived true to her statement that we will stand resolute to our last breath; to Marzieh who valiantly rushed to her slaughter place and instantly died; to the Madadzadehs and other courageous heroes who were overrun by the [Iraqi] HUMVEEs. What a valiant stand they took at the scene.

Brave mothers criticize Khomeini in Iran memorial

A number of brave Iranian mothers of youths who were martyred in the 2009 nationwide uprising against the mullahs' regime have publicly criticized Khomeini for installing a regime which is murdering Iran's children by the day.

The mothers spoke out at a gathering in Tehran’s Shahriar District last Friday to mark the sixth anniversary of the death of Mostafa Karim-Beigi who was killed by the Iranian regime in the course of the 2009 anti-regime uprisings. Many relatives of martyred opponents of the regime and political prisoners took part in the ceremony.

Ms. Shahin Mahin-Far, whose son Amir Arshad Tajmir was killed in the course of the 2009 uprising, said her heart had been ripped apart by her son's death. The regime's henchmen riding a police vehicle ran over his body three times.

Ms. Fatemeh Golgari, whose son, labor activist Afshin Osanloo, died in mysterious circumstances in prison in Iran on June 20, 2013, said at the gathering: "Now should have been a time for joy among our youths, but instead it's their time to be bured."

"I've got something in my heart which I need to say. Let my dear ones and let even the regime hear this. The day when the Imam [Khomeini] came and sat in a cemetery and said 'they've turned this place into a cemetery but I'll turn it into a garden full of flowers,' we didn't understand what he meant by a garden full of flowers. Now we know, he meant that they will kill our youngsters and bury them, and each time we'll have to go there to law flowers on their graves," Ms. Golgari said.

"I long for the day of freedom, when Iran will be free and blossoming and we can all be friends and good brothers and sisters," she added.

Iran: Revision court held for Atena Faraghdani

The appeals court of civil activist Atena Farghadani, currently detained in Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison, was held on Sunday, December 29.

Her lawyer, Mohammad Moghimi, has said he met with his client on December 15 in Evin Prison in order to prepare her defense. Farghadani, imprisoned since January 10, was sentenced to 12 years and 9 months behind bars in a court chaired by judge Salavati.

Her charges include “insulting members of parliament through drawings,” “assembly and collusion with anti-revolution figures” and “insulting the leader of the Islamic republic”.

Farghadani said earlier this year after being held in a Revolutionary Guards prison for two months that her critical drawings were the main subject of the interrogations. She is currently being held in the women’s ward of Evin Prison.

Senator Lieberman noted Tehran’s role as the main parameter causing instability in the region. He described the regime as the prime threat to global peace and security and reiterated his view on the need for regime change by the Iranian people.He further stressed on MEK’s role in confronting Islamic fundamentalism by advocating a democratic and tolerant Islam.

Senator Lieberman expressed confidence that change in Iran will have a great impact on developments throughout the region.

Iran: University students disrupt Rouhani’s speech, chant Free Political Prisoners

Speech by Hassan Rouhani, the president of Iranian regime, was disrupted at Tehran’sSharif University of Technology to such an extent that Rouhani was compelled to cut short his speech and make a quick exit.

This happened despite the fact that security elements and the branch of the intelligence ministry at the university, apprehensive of student protests, had barred entry of most students to the hall and had carefully selected people allowed to attend. As such, over 1500 seats were empty while students that had gathered outside the hall chanted, “political prisoner must be freed”.

Nevertheless, many students that found their way to the hall ridiculed Hassan Rouhani’s deceptive speech about the reduction in inflation rate and the achievements of his failed government. They booed Hassan Rouhani and chanted: “student rather dies than be humiliated” and “death to dictator”.

A number of children under the age of 18 had gone to Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison to visit their imprisoned mothers on 18 November. While they were waiting and their mothers were getting ready to enter the visiting hall, the children were forced out of the hall at the last minute, while in tears. Their mothers were told they cannot see their children on that day, according to the website of the NCRI Women's Committee.

In other news, prison authorities have told political prisoners that Babak Zanjani, an Iranian regime-affiliated businessman charged for plundering millions of dollars, was scheduled to meet his wives on the same day but decided to cancel the visit.
