NCRI calls on Italian PM to cancel trip to Iran - The National

NCRI calls on Italian PM to cancel trip to Iran - The National
NCRI calls on Italian PM to cancel trip to Iran - The National
The Iranian Resistance has called on Italy's prime minister to cancel a visit to Iran next week amid fears it will be used by Tehran to legitimize human rights violations in the country, Scotland's The National reported on Friday.
"Iran has an economy worth $400 billion (£283.8bn) and European countries are keen to re-establish trade ties," the paper wrote.
"However, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said more than 2,300 people had been executed there during [Hassan] Rouhani’s regime – according to a UN special rapporteur, the highest figure over the past 25 years."
"The NCRI said the Tehran regime 'manipulates such visits against the highest interests of the people of Iran and against peace and tranquillity in the region'."
Shahin Gobadi of the NCRI told The National: “The Iranian regime is very egregious and only feeds Tehran’s propaganda. It has no interest in improving Iran’s conduct at home or abroad."
“Actions talk louder than words and under Rouhani the human rights situation is becoming much worse. Just yesterday a report by Amnesty International put Iran far ahead of any other country in terms of executions in 2015.”
Look at Iran’s conduct regarding missile tests, or for sending weapons abroad. In recent weeks three ships containing Iranian weapons destined for Yemen’s Houthis were intercepted by the French, Australian and American naval forces in international waters.”
Mr. Gobadi said it was unlikely that Italy would condemn human rights issues in a meeting with Rouhani, in which case the premier’s visit should be called off, the report said. If it went ahead as planned, it would send a message to Iranians that such behaviour was acceptable.

Iran Election or Selection? What are the Prospects?

Members of Assembly of Expertes - March 2015
Members of Assembly of Expertes - March 2015
On February 26, two “elections” will be held in Iran simultaneously: for the 290 seats of “Islamic Consultative Assembly.” (Majlis or parliament) and for the 86-member Assembly of Experts which is nominally tasked with selecting the Supreme Leader and supervising his conduct.
The Constitution and election laws
The nature of elections in Iran is different from democratic countries. The Constitution prevents those elections from adhering to recognized international standards and from reflecting the preferences of the full range of Iran’s societal demographics.

Article 91: Provides the formation of the “Guardian Council” (GC) which is comprised of six theologians appointed by the Supreme Leader and six jurists appointed by the head of the Judiciary, who is also appointed by the Supreme Leader. The Article states: “With a view to safeguarding the Islamic ordinances and the Constitution and in order to examine the compatibility of the legislation passed by the Islamic Consultative Assembly with Islam, a council to be known as the Guardian Council is to be established.”

U.S. House Republicans want panel to investigate Iran deal - The Hill

capitol_hill

Some two dozen Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives want to create a Congressional committee to provide oversight of the Iran nuclear deal, The Hill reported on Thursday.
Rep. Todd Young (R-Ind.) has introduced legislation to create the Select Committee on Oversight of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) after lawmakers were unable to block the agreement earlier this year despite opposition from majorities in both chambers.
"We cannot lose sight of the threat posed by a nuclear Iran, which is why we need an oversight body in the House that can mimic this role and sound the alarm when Iran cheats the deal," Young, who is running to succeed retiring Sen. Dan Coats (R-Ind.), said in a statement.
The committee would be able to investigate compliance of the nuclear deal and give an annual report that would include any enrichment activities, uranium stockpile levels, the oversight of the deal by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and sanctions compliance, The Hill reported.
The move comes as the deal heads toward implementation day, when sanctions against Iran's regime will be lifted. While U.S. officials have suggested that implementation day likely won't occur until mid-2016, the Iranian regime's officials have suggested it could happen in January.
Young added that the House committee, which would be able to subpoena administration officials, would help keep members informed and prepare lawmakers with potential next steps if Tehran violates the agreement.
The House committee would also look into research and development of the Iranian regime's missile program and any attempts by Tehran to buy conventional weapons.
Recent ballistic missile tests by Iran's regime have drawn frustration from lawmakers in both parties. The administration is expected to announce new sanctions against companies and individuals involved in missile development

URGENT ACTION: JUVENILE OFFENDER FACES THE GALLOWS AGAIN

Salar Shadizadi

Juvenile offender Salar Shadizadi has been rescheduled for execution on Saturday 28 November.
Juvenile offender Salar Shadizadi has been rescheduled for execution on Saturday 28 November, despite the prohibition on the use of the death penalty against juvenile offenders under international law and standards, and his right to be granted a re-trial under Iran’s own domestic law.
Salar Shadizadi, now aged 24, was sentenced to death by Branch 11 of the Provincial Criminal Court of Gilan Province in December 2007 for stabbing his childhood friend. He was 15 years old at the time. The sentence was upheld by Branch 37 of the Supreme Court in March 20 08 and approved by the Head of the Judiciary in May 2013. Since then, the authorities have twice scheduled the execution and later postponed it. They have, however, failed to take the steps necessary to ensure that Salar Shadizadi is granted a re-trial, even though the General Board of Iran’s Supreme Court has ruled that all those on death row for crimes committed when they were under 18 are entitled to receive a re-trial based on the new juvenile sentencing provisions of Iran’s 2013 Islamic Penal Code.
Salar Shadizadi was arrested in February 2007 and charged with the murder of a friend when he was 15 years old. He was not granted access to a lawyer at the investigative stage and was only allowed to retain a lawyer when his case was sent to court for trial. He says that he was also tortured and otherwise ill-treated during the investigative stage. In a will letter written from prison in November 2015

Iran Increases Funding to Hezbollah Following Nuclear Deal

Hezbollah forces

Iran has increased funding to terror group Hezbollah following the nuclear agreement brokered with the P5 +1 in July, The Washington Times reporte.

Since the deal was signed, Iran has significantly increased its financial
support for Hezbollah, one of the largest terror groups in the region. ... This support, for example, has enabled Hezbollah to obtain highly developed new armaments, including advanced technologies that many militaries around the world would envy. Al-Rai, a Kuwaiti newspaper, reported Saturday that Hezbollah has received all the advanced weaponry that Syria has obtained from the Russians. ... As regards the Palestinians, in the past two months.

The funding boost indicates that Iran assumes crippling international sanctions will be lifted following the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) investigation of Tehran's past nuclear program.

Elisabetta Zamparutti: Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point plan must be supported

The 10-point plan presented by Iranian opposition leader Mrs. Maryam Rajavi for a future free Iran should be supported by the international community of nations in order to ensure global peacel.
We have also to find those political references to discuss with and to support, and I think that in regard to Iran I think that only the PMOI and the Iranian resistance could be the reference. And this is the reason why we have to try to convince our governments, our parliaments to discuss with them and recognize them as a political reference. Because we know what is the program of MaryamRajavi, we know the ten points of her program, and this is what not only Iran but what the International Community need for a peaceful world and a peaceful Middle East. I think it is an important occasion to draw on all these issues.
Iranians plan to rally outside the United Nations in New York on September 28 to denounce the visit by the mullahs' President Hassan Rouhani to the UN General Assembly. The rally, which is being organized by the Organization of Iranian-American Communities (OIAC), will press the international community to hold the regime in Iran accountable for its abhorrent human rights record.

Speech by Alejo Vidal-Quadras in Geneva panel: Human rights in Iran

Alejo Vidal-Quadras in Geneva panel

I am here today, representing the International Committee In Search of Justice (ISJ) which we formed in 2008 when I was vice-president of the European Parliament.

The mullahs' regime in Iran continues to execute more of its citizens per capita than any other UN member state and is the biggest executioner of juveniles.
Some 2000 people have been executed under President Rouhani in the past two years, more than in any similar period in the past 25 years. A young Kurdish political prisoner, Behrouz Alkhani was executed recently and the dead body of Shahrokh Zamani, another political prisoner was found in his cell last week.

The executions have escalated especially in the month following the nuclear deal with Iran. It seems that the recent nuclear deal and the absence of absolutely any public condemnation of human rights violations by the European governments, have emboldened Iran to move more quickly to try to annihilate its opponents both inside Iran and also those exiled in neighbouring Iraq.

IAEA sends Iran regime questions on past nuclear activities

The U.N. nuclear watchdog said on Wednesday it had sent questions to the regime in Iran over "ambiguities" in its submissions as the agency assesses whether Tehran's past activities were entirely peaceful, an assessment crucial to a diplomatic pact with Tehran.

Under a roadmap agreement between the regime in Iran and the International AtomicEnergy Agency (IAEA) reached alongside a July 14 deal between Tehran and six world powers, the agency must assess by the end of the year whether past work carried out by the Iranian regime was aimed at producing nuclear weapons.

Iran - In deed the only solution to the Nuclear Crisis is the removal of Iranian regime by people and their organized resistance.

Ultimate solution to Iran nuclear crisis is tied to death of theocratic regime.

alireza-jafarzade

The Obama administration ought to adopt a "strategic and sensible" Iran policy that would empower the Iranian people to bring about regime change in place of the ruthless theocracy.

"The international community owes a huge debt of gratitude to the main Iran opposition movement, the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), for its diligent and continuing efforts to unmask Tehran’s clandestine nuclear weapons program. Without it, the mullahs would have had the bomb by now."

Iran Will Cheat on Nuclear Deal to Build Bomb

In deed the only solution to the Nuclear Crisis is the removal of
regime by people and their organized resistance.

The way forward in aftermath of a flawed Iran deal - Ali Safavi

The international community should support the Iranian people and their organized Resistance to bring about regime change in Iran as the ultimate solution to the nuclear crisis, Ali Safavi of the opposition coalition National Council ofResistance of Iran (NCRI) said on Friday.
Ali Safavi

The regime in Iran stands to accrue greater economic gains from the Iran nuclear deal agreed to last month, while simultaneously buying time to continue its long-standing deceptions in pursuit of illicit nuclear gains, Dr. Safavi wrote in the TheHill.com.
Many lawmakers and experts, including some key Democrats, have highlighted the flaws in the deal, he wrote. More tellingly has been the steady stream of mixed signals from the Iranian regime itself.

Horrific punishments in Iran

Iran: inhumane amputation verdict implemented in Mashhad

Dossier of the Iranian regime's crimes must be referred to the Security Council and its leaders must face justice in international courts.
The mullahs’ inhumane regime implemented an amputation verdict by cutting off the right hand and left leg of a prisoner in Mashhad.
The victim was charged with collaborating with two other men in robbing a branch of Bank Meli in 2014 and getting away with 1.29 billion rials (around $43,000).
According to state-run media this group had since 2004 robbed seven other banks. Inhumane rulings and punishments are continuing and executions have skyrocketed despite all of Hassan Rouhani ’s promises of ‘moderation’.
The Iranian resistance called on the international community particularly the European Union, the United States and all human rights defenders to strongly condemn.

Two more prisoners were hanged Monday morning in Iran’s notorious Qezelhesar Prison in the city of Karaj, west of Tehran.

The two prisoners were identified as Saeid Ganji and Firouz Nouri-Majd.

Ganji, Nouri-Majd and at least one other prisoner in Qezelhesar Prison were transferred to solitary confinement on Sunday in preparation for their execution, and their relatives were contacted to meet with them in the prison for a final time.

There are reports that the number of prisoners awaiting imminent execution in the jail could in fact be higher.

Another 10 death-row prisoners in Iran have been transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their execution.

Nine prisoners, being held in a detention center in Karaj, west of Tehran, were transferred to solitary confinement on Saturday in preparation for their execution. On Sunday, their relatives were told to come to the jail to meet for a final time with their loved ones.

The nine prisoners were identified as Omid Mohammadi-Dara, Mostafa Ghafarzadeh, Omidreza Karampour, Shahriar Hassan-Zadeh, Hossein Afghan, Yareh Hassan-Zadeh, Sasan Salari, Meysam Hosseini-Nejad, and Amanollah Baluch-Zehi.

At least 18 prisoners have been executed in Iran in the past six days.

Faced with escalating popular discontent and unable to respond to the rightful demands of the majority of the Iranian people who are living under the poverty line, the religious fascism ruling Iran - dubbed the ‘godfather of ISIS’ by the Iranian people - is ramping up suppression.

On Thursday, Amnesty International said that the Iranian regime has executed an astonishing 694 people between January 1 and July 15, 2015.

“Iran’s staggering execution toll for the first half of this year paints a sinister picture of the machinery of state carrying out premeditated judicially-sanctioned killing on a mass scale,” it said.

Since mullah Hasssan Rouhani took office as President, more than 1,800 prisoners have been executed in Iran.
